Founded in Providence, Rhode Island, Upgraded Academy is the premier basketball and development that the state of Rhode Island needs.
We specialize in high-quality camps and clinics that offer professional instruction from leading basketball coaches and trainers. With over a decade of experience, our team is a unique blend of former collegiate and current professional athletes dedicated to elevating the skill level of every participant.
We serve boys and girls from grades 4-12 of all skill levels. Our programs are designed for young athletes eager to improve their game, whether they are beginners building a solid foundation or experienced players striving for advanced skill development.

MEET THE DIRECTOR
COACH LADI ODUGBELA
Coach Joseph “Ladi” Odugbela is a highly experienced and accomplished basketball coach with a strong background in playing and coaching. He began his coaching career as an assistant coach at Coyle and Cassidy in Taunton, MA from 2011-2018, where he honed his skills in player development, game strategy, and team management. During this time, his contributions helped the team achieve significant success, including multiple championships and accolades.
In 2019, Coach Ladi took on the role of head coach at Rocky Hill Country Day School in East Greenwich, RI, where he continued to demonstrate his coaching prowess. Under his leadership, the team achieved remarkable results, winning two SENE regular-season Championships, one SENE Conference Tournament Championship, three NEPSAC Class D Semifinal appearances, and two NEPSAC Class D Championship appearances. Ladi's coaching style is characterized by a strong emphasis on fundamentals, strategic play, and fostering a positive team culture.
Coach Ladi's most recent achievement includes his role as head Boys Basketball coach at Mount St. Charles for the 2024-2025 season. In this capacity, he brings his wealth of experience, strategic acumen, and passion for player development to guide the team towards new heights of success. His coaching philosophy centers on building a strong foundation of skills, teamwork, and a winning mentality.
Beyond his coaching achievements, Coach Ladi has a deep understanding of the NEPSAC landscape, having played for St. Andrew’s in Barrington, RI, during his high school years. He continued his basketball journey at Division 1 North Platte CC, where he earned recognition as Nebraska JC Player of the Year. Ladi's extensive experience as both a player and coach enables him to provide valuable insights and mentorship to aspiring athletes.
Throughout his coaching career, Coach Ladi Odugbela has demonstrated a commitment to excellence, player development, and creating a supportive and competitive environment for his teams. His passion for the game and dedication to helping players reach their full potential make him a highly respected and sought-after coach in the basketball community.
